The development consists of refurbishing and extending a 1930s house which is part of a wider four house development. Set in a private road in Hampstead North London the enabling and site investigation works began in the autumn of 2010 with completion of the contract in 2012.
The house is set in mature park land gardens accessed by a private gated road. The site is located in the Redington / Frognal Conservation area on the west facing slope of a hill.
The original 1930s house was completely demolished with the exception of the front elevation; a new house behind the retained facade was then constructed. PKS acted as both architect and interior designer overseeing the layout and co-ordination of the design. The house incorporates a lower ground entertainment floor which includes swimming pool, gym and cinema facilities.
The scheme allows a new build residence while retaining the original elevation to address the conservation issues.
