This high-profile residential development inhabits the shell of the former Lords Telephone Exchange.
Built in 1937, the original structure was ideal for creating open plan living spaces on multiple levels, resulting in a project of 39 individually designed apartments including five penthouses for Yoo Ltd.
PKS gained the original planning consent for detailed change of use and were responsible for the shell and core development. They were retained as executive architects for the fit-out to collaborate with star designer Philippe Starck to create distinctive residential apartments with double height, open plan living spaces and galleried bedrooms. Many innovative features were incorporated into the apartments, the interiors of which were treated like large scale pieces of furniture.
The apartments are designed as a series of interconnecting and diverse double height spaces, mezzanine levels and terraces together with innovatively designed features and trademark Starck designed fittings, and colour coded 'feature walls'.
